Abstract

In this study, direct current optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DCO-OFDM), which is one of the multicarrier transmission techniques designed for intensity modulation/direct detection method applied to visible light communication (VLC) systems, has been studied. The error performance of the modeled DCO-OFDM based VLC system is enhanced significantly by integrating signal space diversity (without causing any additional computational complexity).
