Learning database through interactive mobile assisted instruction

Abstract

Interactive mobile devices including smartphones and tablets PCs are used widely around the globe. Although using the mobile devices to support teaching and learning is not a novel concept, there are limited number of applications available to support computer programing courses. This study is designed to reveal the students’ acceptance of the mobile assisted instruction, their interest of using the mobile assisted instruction and usefulness of the mobile assisted instruction in the database management course. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected from the undergraduate students participating the database management course offered through interactive mobile assisted instruction. Results revealed that students have found using the interactive mobile assisted instruction useful to support their learning.
