The digitalization of everyday items and our presence in the virtual world increase our reliance on electrical energy. Our dwindling energy resources exacerbate existing issues. There are numerous studies on circular economies and sustainability in the manufacturing and service sectors. Energy distribution enterprises are critical in this area since both supply energy and meet user demand. Academics evaluate the effectiveness of energy distribution corporations in a variety of locales and countries using a variety of methods. Turkey has been privatizing since 1994. This circumstance necessitates a review of the performance of local enterprises in this sector. Turkey’s energy distribution system is divided into 21 areas, each of which has its own private energy provider. The performance of the 21 energy distribution enterprises evaluated is quantified using data envelopment analysis (DEA). The aim is to implement interregional comparisons based on published input and output numbers as well as firm efficiency. Additionally, the characteristics of inefficient companies are extracted. As a result, our research contributes to these firms’ growth and success. Besides contributing to the academic literature, this study contributes useful data to the sector.
