Prof. HARUN SAVUT

He graduated from the Faculty of Theology at Ankara University in 1995. In 2000, he completed his master's degree at the Social Sciences Institute of Ankara University. In the same institute, in 2012, he defended his doctoral thesis titled "A Search for a Solution to the Problems of the 'Science of Tafsir' Based on Transmission Sources: Ibn Kathir's (774/1373) Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Azim" and received his Doctorate degree. Between 1995 and 2013, he worked as a teacher at various schools under the Ministry of National Education. In 2013, he was appointed as Assistant Professor (Yrd. Doç. Dr.) at the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University’s Faculty of Theology. He became an Associate Professor in 2018 and a Professor in 2023. Since 2022, he has been serving at the Faculty of Theology at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. His research primarily focuses on the history of Tafsir.
