Asst. Prof. ARZU ERMAN

Biography

She graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Language, History and Geography and continued her master's and doctorate education at Hacettepe University. During her doctoral studies, she concted research at Panteion University for 10 months with the Ph.D. Research Scholarship given by Greek Goverment, and also studied advanced Modern Greek at the National and  Kapodistrian University of Athens. She received her Ph.D. from Hacettepe University in 2019, with a thesis entitled "Early Relations between the Early Ottoman State and the Kingdom Greece: Problems, Conflicting Factors and Compromise" and then she conducted research  at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for 3 months in 2019. In 2022, she continued her Post-doc education at University of Macedonia, Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies for 12 months with  the postdoctoral reserach scholarship she received from TUBİTAK. Her primary fields of reserach are the history of Modern Greece, Political History,  Recent Ottoman Balkan History and Turkey-Greece relations. She has publications on this subject. She speaks Greek and English.
