Abstract:
In this study one of the Ottoman Scholars Güzelhisari Mustafa Efendi's belief and the paraphrase of Fiqh al-Akbar called Tuhfat al-Nabī is mentioned. Güzelhisari Mustafa Efendi was born in Buldan, one of the sub-districts of Denizli that is connected to the city of Aydın Güzelhisari. Güzelhisari Mustafa Effendi was a Hanafī scribe and sufi. He has explanations and apostils about Islamic Law and doctrines which are extant. Tuhfat al-Nabī, the main work of this research is a paraphrase written in Ottoman Turkish by Güzelhisari Mustafa Effendi upon Abū Hanīfa's pamphlet called Fiqh al-Akbar. This study consists of an introduction, three sections and a conclusion. In the introduction, the subject of the research, its aim, method and the sources are stated. In the first section the information about Güzelhisari Mustafa Efendi's socioculturel environment, his life and his works are introduced. In the second section, Tuhfat al-Nabī's eight copies which have been reached today are introduced and the text which was written in Ottoman Turkish is evaluated using latin alphabet. In the third section, Güzelhisari Mustafa Efendi's remarks on belief are discussed using Tuhfat al-Nabī's pamphlet as a main source. His remarks on belief are evaluated under five titles such as, understanding of belief, theism, believes in prophets, believes in after-life and other affairs.
