Asst. Prof. ABDULLAH BALLI

Dr. Abdullah Ballı graduated from the Department of Arabic Language Teaching at Gazi University Faculty of Education in 2004 and has built his academic career around Translation Studies, Intercultural Communication, and Arabic–Turkish Translation. Following his undergraduate studies, he worked in the private sector providing translation services, served as a diplomatic correspondent for various national media organizations, and gained extensive professional experience as a translator and interpreter across multiple industries.

He earned his Master’s degree from the Department of Eastern Languages and Literatures with a thesis entitled “Challenges Encountered in Arabic and Turkish Written Translation Activities and Proposed Solutions.” He subsequently completed his Ph.D. in Translation and Cultural Studies with a dissertation entitled “Preliminary Cultural Norms in the Translation of Arabic Parallel Texts.”

Between 2013 and 2018, Dr. Ballı served as a Research Assistant and Lecturer in the Department of Arabic Translation and Interpreting at Kırıkkale University. In 2018, he joined the Department of Arabic Translation and Interpreting at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, where he currently serves as an Assistant Professor. He is also a Full Member of the Scientific Board of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History, contributing to scholarly studies and national policies related to culture, language, and civilization.

In addition to his academic activities, Dr. Ballı has accumulated more than twenty years of international professional experience, particularly in the construction, energy, infrastructure, and heavy engineering sectors. In this capacity, he serves as an academic consultant, project coordinator, and strategic communications specialist for international investment and contracting projects, while coordinating overseas project development initiatives for Turkish construction companies.

Dr. Ballı possesses extensive expertise and a strong professional network across the Middle East, the Gulf region, North Africa, and Eurasia. His areas of specialization include investment planning, company formation, international contract management, commercial negotiations, legal documentation, and the monitoring of government-backed mega projects. Within this framework, he maintains direct professional relationships with potential project owners and stakeholders involved in infrastructure and superstructure developments in Kazakhstan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Libya.

Fluent in Turkish, Arabic, and English, Dr. Ballı delivers training programs, seminars, and professional consultancy services in written and oral translation, consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, legal translation, technical translation, media and digital content localization, computer-assisted translation technologies, terminology management, and intercultural communication. He also provides strategic consultancy, institutional representation, and project coordination services for large-scale international investment projects.

Combining academic excellence with extensive international commercial and sectoral experience, Dr. Abdullah Ballı continues to contribute as an academic, consultant, and project coordinator specializing in Translation Studies, Intercultural Communication, International Investment Projects, and Strategic Business Development. Through his multidisciplinary expertise, he actively facilitates sustainable partnerships among cultures, institutions, and global investment communities.
